I started a new project recently called OttawaVentures. Mostly it’s a way to motivate me to go out and explore my own city and approach it with the curiosity of a tourist. I was born here, raised here and though i’ve spend some time abroad, and in other cities, I have spent most of my life here. Yet, I still feel like there is so much around the area that I haven’t seen and experienced. I think when people are from an area, they simply put off visiting their own town or city because they feel they can do it anytime and it doesn’t seem as exciting or as interesting as exploring distant places. My goal for this project is to put those thoughts aside and take the opportunity to explore as much of Ottawa and the surrounding areas as possible. The photos above are just a few of my favourite places along the Ottawa river and all accessible from the wonderful bike paths this city has. You can follow the project on instagram @OttawaVentures.
